On August 4, 2007 at Baldwin Beach in South Lake Tahoe, the Children and Grandchildren of Jesse Aguirre joined together to honor his final wish of having his ashes spread in South Lake Tahoe with his wife Hilda. Even though Jesse had gone on to be with our Heavenly Father several years prior to this day, many family friends heard the news and wanted to join in celebrating his life. A gathering of what was originally planned to be a few family members quickly grew into a group of long time friends dating back to the days of Los Aguirres and even before. Jesse was honored with many stories from former employees, friends and family members and memories from his children and grandchildren being shared. Danny Aguirre and Robert Aguirre blessed the crowd with prayer and music.
What was intended to be a celebration honoring the life of an amazing man is now proving to be much more. Jesse couldn’t have known that his final wish to be spread in Lake Tahoe would result in a gathering so large and powerful that it would become an annual tradition.
In 2008, many of the same family members and friends returned to Baldwin Beach in South Lake Tahoe on August 2nd to once again reunite and spend time with one another in prayer, communion and worship. We felt the presence of the Lord show up in an amazing way and believe this is the beginning of many more annual reunions to come.
The date for the 2009 Tahoe Reunion has not been set but is in the works. As more definitive details are decided we will keep everyone posted via email and this blog. Please check back often for the 2009 reunion date, location and details. Please feel free to post any pictures, thoughts, memories, ideas, or ways you were touched and blessed as a result of this reunion. We are excited to see what the future holds for South Lake Tahoe and everyone participating. Please forward this blog and our email updates to anyone we may have missed or that couldn’t make it but you know would want to be included.

2007 Wow, We were so surprised and blessed when over 100 people dropped by to gather with us in the memory of our dad, Jesse and also cousin, Marty Valenzuela.
What a special time to reunite with so many of those who we haven't seen in years and years!
To think that some of us grew together spiritually during the Jesus Movement! What a wonderful foundation stone to build on for future years to come Jeri Prest
It was so good reconnecting with old friends and I love how the passage of time did Not affect the closeness I felt with so many. I felt like we were just picking up where we left off so many years ago. Thank you Pastor Terry for the wonderful meeting Sunday morning. You could sense the blessing of God on this reunion. It was so much more than anyone planned and I believe the best is yet to come. It makes you realize that relationships are meant to be timeless and we need to be willing to make sacrifices to maintain and nourish them. The actual reunion, the Saturday night prayer meeting, and the Sunday church service were so powerful and meaningful, making it obvious that God is doing something beyond what we can fully understand.
